Procedures for Applying British High Schools
1. Detailed Introduction

academic results, environment and location, as well as fees,

then make budget accordingly.
2. To establish a plan for studying
in UK

suitable and clear plan for students to study in UK, and then
select the suitable British high schools and additional English
language course.

3. Required application materials
The required application materials provided by students
including: application form, graduation certificate, school
transcripts, studying certificate, introduction of present
school, two letters of recommendation from present teachers,
personal statement (preferred in English, about 500 words),
various awards certificates.
4. Pay Registration Fee
Generally speaking, if a school is willing to accept student’s
application, the school will ask the student to pay a
non-refundable registration fee, the fees various between 50-200
GBP, the registration fee is subject to school’s regulation.
Schools will only able to process with the application after
receiving registration fees. The registration fee shall be paid
directly to school by parents of students.
5. Entry Test
Most of the schools will post the entrance test papers to our
office, and we will invigilate students on behalf of schools,
students are required to complete the papers within specified
time. The test place can be specified according to different
students from other cities. A few of schools required students
to sit the examination at local British Council, students needed
to pay additional examination fees to British Council.
6. Conditional Offer of School
After assessing the application materials and the test results,
most of the schools will issue a conditional offer, require
students to pay a certain amount of fees as the deposit for
securing a place within 2-4 four weeks from the issue date. Most
boarding schools’ deposit is one term’s fee, other schools are
vary from 500-2000 GBP. The deposit will be refunded without
interest to students after they finishing studies in the school.
(2 years for GCSE or A-Level, one year for Pre A-level course).
This deposit shall be paid directly to school by parents of
students.
7.
Unconditional Offer of School
Schools will then issue an unconditional offer or other visa
documents to students after receiving the deposit, to support
the students to apply for a student visa.
8. English language course
arrangement
After being accepted by a school for GCSE or A-Level or Pre
A-level course, students can begin to arrange an additional
English language course according to their English language
ability and schedule. Most boarding schools have no language
course, students need to apply for another English language
school. It’s recommended that all of the students to apply for
3-6 months language course prior to the main course.
9. Apply for visa
Students can apply for visa after receiving the unconditional
offer from school, the visa application can only be submitted to
the local UK Visa Application Center 3 months prior to the term
commencement date. (Eg, if your term commences on 1st September
2009, then the earliest date for submitting visa application is

10. Make Preparation
Students can go to banks to change GBP with British student visa
and school’s offer letter, so that they can have pocket money
when they arrive in UK, students are also required to pay the
first term’s fees (or first academic year’s) before the
commencement date of the term.
