Welcome to The Royal Wolverhampton School. The Royal is a
small, friendly community, its size meaning that we know our pupils as
individuals. We aim to ensure that they become happy and successful, acquiring
both the qualifications and the life-skills needed to prosper in the modern
world. Low class sizes and the close care of our tutors help to ensure that
pupils achieve their full academic potential, whilst a wide range of
extra-curricular activities is available to develop character and leadership. We
send many pupils to Oxbridge and other top universities, whilst also nurturing
those with different ambitions, such as joining HM Forces.
The Royal has a forward-looking approach and modern
facilities. Departments in the school have seen great investment in recent
years, particularly Science, IT and Music. These subjects, along with
Mathematics, achieve exceptional results. Three of our pupils finished in the
top five in the country in A level and GCSE papers sat this summer. Likewise, we
are investing heavily in extra-curricular activity, our new floodlit Astroturf
pitch being an example. We have pupils with international and regional honours
for sport and the school has an excellent reputation in music.
We draw day pupils from the local area and boarders from both
the UK and overseas. This variety, and the benefit of 150 years of tradition,
brings richness and depth to school life. This site can only give you a glimpse
of what we have to offer, but I hope it conveys something of the unique
atmosphere of the school. If you are interested in finding out more, please send
for a prospectus or arrange to visit us if you are able. I would be very happy
to meet you and welcome you to Wolverhampton.
