Heathfield St Mary’s offers girls a very special kind of education.
As an all girls school, pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential in
a supportive yet challenging environment. As a full boarding school we offer
unrivalled opportunities for personal growth and development.
The education we offer is relevant and inspiring, giving your daughter the
knowledge, skills and values essential for her future. Small classes and a
focus on individual learning help us to maintain excellent academic
standards. Our dedicated and highly qualified staff, who are experts in the
education of girls, encourage every girl to be confident of success.
Christian values are central to the school. They are demonstrated through
our pastoral care and the nature of our community life. Each child feels
valued and friendships made at school last a lifetime. Pastoral care
throughout the school is officially recognised as excellent, with Heads of
Houses, Form Tutors, Housemistresses and resident SRNs all playing their
part.
Entry for the majority of girls is at 11+, 13+ or 6th Form. A few girls join
in other years groups. Candidates may apply for a range of means tested
scholarships and exhibitions as well as bursaries.
In February 2006 it was announced that Heathfield, Ascot and St Mary’s
Wantage would merge, thus uniting two excellent schools. The newly formed
school, Heathfield St Mary’s, is based in Ascot, a 35 acre site providing
superb facilities and set in a magnificent and accessible location.
Uniting the two schools significantly enhances the quality of education that
we are able to provide. The sale of the St Mary’s site will generate
substantial funds which will be invested in our new school. We will be
drawing on the strengths of both schools to ensure we offer the very best
education for girls. In the coming years we will be further enhancing our
facilities with the building of a new Sixth Form Residential Block and a
Performing Arts Centre.
